This is an exceptionally elegant Seiko Chariot, reference 2220-0180, from December 1976, a perfect example of a slim and sophisticated vintage dress watch. The Chariot line was renowned for its thin mechanical profiles, and this model measures a sleek 7mm thick. It features a superb stainless steel case with classic lines, framing a clean textured dial (see video!) adorned with crisp black Roman numerals and slender hands. At its heart is the high-quality Seiko 2220 manual wind movement, a 'hi-beat' calibre operating at 28,800 bph.
The watch is presented in great overall vintage condition. The original crystal has some light signs of wear but is in great shape for its age (there is a small crack at 10 o'clock). The classic textured dial is in great condition, remaining bright and highly legible. The stainless steel case is in superb condition, showing only minimal signs of wear and retaining its sharp original finishing remarkably well. It has been fitted with a brand new black saffiano leather strap that complements the classic aesthetic. The watch has been tested and is both fully functioning correctly and keeping accurate time within expected vintage tolerances.
