About
Hi, I'm Jake.
Jake's Curated Vintage started the way a lot of good (questionably) obsessions do. I'd always had a thing for watches, but back in 2021 — when everyone had a bit too much time on their hands — is when it really went downhill. The watch that tipped me over was an odd little Wittnauer 2000 in blue, which I still have. Looking back, I've probably always been drawn to the weird ones. Four or five years and a lot of parcels later, that hobby turned into a proper business — at this point I've handled thousands of watches, from $50 quartz oddities to obsessively-hunted grail pieces.
I mostly deal in vintage Seiko, and for good reason. Seiko spent decades building watches that were reliable, genuinely affordable, and — every so often — completely bizarre in the best way. Divers, moonphases, tuning-fork oddities, and tank-cased dress watches built from ridiculously hard materials like tungsten carbide (Seiko's NSAG cases) that have barely aged a day. There's a Seiko for almost every era and every kind of collector, and that range is what keeps me hooked.
From my collection to yours. That's not just a tagline, it's how I decide what goes on the site. Every watch here has been personally sourced — pretty much solely from Japan — researched, dated, and inspected before it's listed. If I wouldn't want it in my own collection, it doesn't make the cut.
If there's a freckled hand modelling the watch in the photos, that's me. My partner helps out sometimes too — I don't mind wearing a dainty watch, but if I'm not doing it justice on camera, she'll model it instead. My own wrist size is roughly 19cm / 7.5in, if you're sizing up a bracelet.
Based in Sydney, with free shipping across Australia — and I ship worldwide too, with plenty of experience getting watches safely to pretty much every corner of the globe. If you've got questions about a piece, want help dating a Seiko, or just want to talk vintage watches, reach out any time on Instagram or by email.
