This is a superb vintage Seiko Lord Matic (LM), reference 5606-7140, from 1971. The Lord Matic was a high-quality mid-range line for Seiko, aimed at the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM), and was positioned above the standard Seiko 5, featuring more sophisticated movements and designs. This model is powered by the highly regarded 23-jewel Seiko 5606 automatic movement, which includes hacking, manual winding, and a quickset day-date complication. The watch features a classic 70s case in stainless steel, framing a beautiful and clean light silver sunburst dial with applied baton indices.
The watch is presented in great overall vintage condition. The crystal is in great shape, though it has some light marks near the 7 o'clock position. The light sunburst dial is in great condition, remaining very clean. The stainless steel case is also in great vintage condition, showing wear consistent with its age but retaining its original lines well. It has been fitted with a brand new brown leather strap. The watch has been tested and is both fully functioning correctly and keeping accurate time within expected vintage tolerances, with the quickset day (featuring both Kanji and English wheels) and date functions operating as they should.
