This is a rare and highly characterful vintage Orient AAA Deluxe Swimmer, dating from approximately 1970. The 'AAA Deluxe Swimmer' designation signifies a high-quality, water-resistant model from Orient's catalogue during their golden era of mechanical watchmaking. This model is packed with unique features, including a beautiful silver brushed dial with applied indices, a classic 70s stainless steel cushion case, and a 21-jewel manual wind movement. Its most distinctive feature is the original acrylic crystal which has a unique double cyclops magnifier over the separate day (Kanji only) and date windows.
This watch has a unique operational layout: the date can be advanced with the quickset pusher at 2 o'clock, the first click of the crown sets the time, and the second click engages the manual winding function. It comes fitted on its original Orient AAA stainless steel bracelet.
Presented in great overall vintage condition. The unique double cyclops acrylic crystal is in great shape with no noticeable marks. The silver brushed dial is also in great, clean condition. The stainless steel case is in great vintage condition, showing only minimal signs of wear for its age, as is the original bracelet. The watch has been tested and is both fully functioning correctly and keeping accurate time within expected vintage tolerances.
