This is a truly unique vintage Orient HA automatic watch, reference GS469714-8B, from the 1970s, showcasing a classic design made extraordinary by natural ageing. The 'HA' line represented a quality offering in Orient's catalogue. This model features a robust stainless steel case, and is powered by a robust 21-jewel Orient automatic movement, complete with a quickset pusher for the day of the week (has both english and kanji dials).
The absolute highlight of this timepiece is its one-of-a-kind dial. What was once a standard white dial has, over 50 years, developed a beautiful and completely unique smokey, cloud-like patina. This natural, organic pattern gives the dial a moody depth and character that cannot be replicated, making this a truly individual watch for the collector who appreciates the story that time tells on a dial.
Complementing the unique dial, the rest of the watch is in amazing vintage condition. The acrylic crystal is in great shape with no major marks (and is easily polishable when required). The stainless steel case is in amazing condition, showing minimal wear and retaining its original sharp lines exceptionally well. It comes on its original Orient stainless steel bracelet which is in good condition and includes a strap extender installed for added size. The watch has been tested and is both fully functioning correctly and keeping accurate time within expected vintage tolerances.
